About

Ian is the Head of R,D&E with Forest & Wood Products Australia (FWPA).

Ian has over 35 years of forest & wood products experience with over 20 years operating at senior executive level in large forestry corporations both in Australia and overseas.

Prior to joining FWPA in April 2025, Ian was the GM of Stora Enso’s forestry business in China (The Nordic Renewable Materials Company).

Ian has managed world-class plantation estates and culturally diverse work forces in both Australia and China. In addition, he has exposure to forest operations in the Nordics, Uruguay and Brazil.  In his various roles, he has gained extensive experience in management of the entire forest and wood products value chain.
