About

Dr Vasco Sanchez Rodrigues is a Full Professor of Sustainable Supply Chain Management at Cardiff University. His research addresses complex societal and industrial challenges—such as achieving Net Zero, managing water resources, optimizing land use, and preventing and mitigating food waste. An industry-driven academic, Vasco has led numerous applied research projects that have delivered significant positive impact for leading companies across the retail, food and drink, and logistics sectors in the UK, France, the US, Germany, South Africa, South Korea, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina. He has published over 50 papers in leading international journals and currently leads several applied research projects with a combined external funding of £4 million. Vasco brings his cross-sector expertise in Supply Chain Risk, Resilience, and Sustainability to the Advanced Timber Hub. As Head of the Logistics & Operations Management Section and a member of the Cardiff Business School Management Board, Vasco also serves as Chair of the CILT-sponsored Logistics Research Network Forum. This role enables him to connect the Hub with extensive expertise in logistics, operations, and operational research, while leveraging the broad knowledge base of the LRN community.
