Farshad Janghorban is a PhD Candidate in Structural Engineering at the School of Engineering and Built Environment, Griffith University. His research investigates the dynamic performance of long-span lightweight timber floor systems, with a particular focus on vibration behaviour, serviceability, and occupant comfort. A key focus of his work is improving the understanding and prediction of vibration performance in long-span timber floors, which is an important consideration for the wider application of lightweight timber construction. This research contributes to the development of reliable and efficient design approaches that enable longer spans while maintaining adequate structural performance and occupant comfort. His work aligns with the objectives of the ARC Advance Timber Hub by addressing key performance considerations associated with innovative lightweight timber systems and contributing to the development of efficient, high-performing, and sustainable timber solutions for the future built environment.
