About

Alex is a highly skilled structural engineer with over 15 years of experience working in both Australia and the UK. He re-joined TTW in 2018 after six years of working abroad and was quickly appointed Associate Director in 2021. As the leader of TTW’s timber team in Sydney, Alex is a passionate advocate and expert in timber engineering, with extensive experience in mass timber design, including Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), glulam and hybrid steel/timber structures. He has been involved in the delivery of over 30 mass timber buildings, including the Atlassian Headquarters in Sydney, which will be the largest hybrid timber construction in the world when it is completed in 2026.

With his combination of technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and passion for sustainable design, Alex is a valuable asset to any project team and an industry leader in the field of mass timber structural engineering. He is looking forward to providing valuable industry expertise and experience to held guide the successful outcomes of the projects in the ARC Advance Timber Hub.
