Hons is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Queensland’s School of Civil Engineering, specialising in fire safety research with a focus on lithium-ion battery fires. Hons has a background in renewable energy and thermochemical conversion of lignocellulosic biomass and wastes. At the ARC Advanced Timber Hub, Hons contributes to large-scale flame spread testing of timber ceilings.
