About
Dr Li has extensive industrial and academic experience in mechanical engineering. He is a Fellow of International Academy of Engineering and Technology (AET), and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). His research interests include advanced manufacturing technologies, structural and machine dynamics, vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and control, and experimental modal analysis. He has published over 116 referred technical articles, and won twice the prestigious Thatcher Bros Prize by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK, in 2015 and 2019 respectively. He has been ranked in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. His h-index is 30 in Scopus and 33 in Google Scholar. He has supervised 14 HDR students to completion.
Dr Li’s involvement in the ARC Advance Timber Hub is mainly to investigate the dynamic characteristics and vibrational performance of the lightweight, long-span timber floors and structures by employing experimental and numerical approaches, and to study effective vibration damping techniques.
