About
Dr Liam Ottenhaus is a structural engineer and lecturer at the University of Queensland, with expertise in design of timber connections. Liam and their research team currently focus on offsite timber construction, design for adaptability, disassembly and reuse, and durability of timber joints. Liam co-leads the adaptability subgroup of COST Action Helen and the “Designing for Extended Building Life” Node of the ARC Advance Timber Hub. Liam is also a steering committee member of the Australian Timber Construction Educator Network and a founding member of the International Association for Mass Timber Construction.
