About

Lynne Turner has over 25 years’ experience as an effective senior leader, and has spent much of her career working at universities and in government. In her current role as the General Manager for Horticulture and Forestry Science within the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF), Lynne leads a portfolio of $200M+ of externally co-funded projects, with almost 200 collaboration partners across 21 countries, achieving an average return on investment of 5:1.

As the Centre Director of the Queensland Climate Change Centre of Excellence, Lynne managed research collaborations between the state and international research institutions. She was a key author of ClimateQ:Towards a Greener Queensland, led a modelling team that delivered regional climate change projections for Queensland and was a Member of the Australian Chief Scientist’s Climate Advisory Group.

Lynne is a strong supporter of the role of timber and engineered wood products in reducing emissions and improving biodiversity. Lynne is the Interim Plant Research Program Leader for the proposed Cooperative Research Centre for Zero Net Emissions Agriculture. Lynne was also a Board Member of DAF’s Technology Commercialisation Fund.
