About

Romain is currently leading research and commercial testing in the New Zealand Institute for Bioeconomy Science Limited (Scion Group)’s Timber Engineering Lab. After a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering at Ecole Nationale d’Arts et Métiers, he specialised in wood processing and joined Scion. While relatively young, he is actively updating Scion’s capabilities in wood processing, growing support for the New Zealand industry through testing and increased research in the Timber Engineering area. Finally, he is representing Scion at national and joint Australia-New Zealand standards on Timber Structures and Products and representing New Zealand at ISO/TC 165 Timber Structures.

With his dynamism and adaptability, Romain hopes to contribute to innovative and cross-field topics in the ARC Advance Timber Hub.
