Project

Evaluation of the ARC Advance Timber Hub

Project Description

This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the ARC Advance Timber Hub in achieving its stated aims. In addition, it seeks to understand the individual objectives of each partner organisation, their experience of the ATH and identify, the value provided by the ATH any potential strategies to improve the outcomes or experience of the members. The proposed project consists of a survey run multiple times over the period of the ATH as well as in-depth interviews (where relevant) based on findings of the survey.

This project expects to develop a baseline and evolving responses of the objectives and expectations of the ATH partners, and the unique value proposition of the ATH for each partner.  This information will assist the ATH management and delivery overall as well as potentially individually research nodes. In addition, the project will provide a unique data set enabling measurement of the impact and value of the ATH.

Expected outcomes of this project include a comprehensive evidence base for the objectives of different actors in the industry (ATH partners) as well as the value of the ATH for current and future members.

This should provide significant benefits for partner organisations to communicate the value of investment in the ATH internally to their companies, and the ATH management to communicate to the ARC and partners the value of the ATH as well as potential strategies to refine the delivery of the ATH. In addition, evidence-based improvements to the ARC ITRH process will be provided to the ARC through regular reporting focusing on how they can increase the value realised by partner organisations.

Objectives

  1. Measurement of effectiveness of the ARC Advance Timber Hub
  2. Insights to pivot / refine the ARC Advance Timber Hub / Industrial Transformation Research Hub model to achieve aims.
  3. Support ARC Advance Timber Hub reporting to ARC of outcomes and success.

Targeted industry focused outcomes

This project will provide information for partner organisations to communicate the value of investment in the ATH internally to their companies, and the ATH management to communicate to the ARC and partners the value of the ATH as well as potential strategies to refine the delivery of the ATH. In addition, evidence-based improvements to the ARC ITRH process will be provided to the ARC through regular reporting focusing on how they can increase the value realised by partner organisations.

Targeted industry focused outcomes include measurement of value created for members through the ATH and strategies to refine and improve delivery of the ATH.

The research impact will be measured qualitatively through feedback from ATH members, ATH management and the ARC.

Objectives/Deliverables

  • Delivery of an online survey distributed through ATH members in years 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the project.
  • Analysis and results delivered within 6 months of survey delivery.
  • Up to 20 interviews following surveys where relevant.
  • (4) Academic articles and industry style reports for ARC reporting as relevant based on data and ATH member input over the five year project.
